trex.jpg
Children Of The Revolution

T.Rex 'Children Of The Revolution'

"Children of the Revolution" is a song by T. Rex, written by Marc Bolan. It was a No. 2 hit single in September 1972. The song broke their sequence of four official single releases all reaching No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart ("Hot Love", "Get It On", "Telegram Sam", "Metal Guru"). It did not receive a regular album release.

T. Rex - Get It On (bang a gong) - Live Wembley 1972

"Get It On" is a song by the British glam rock group T. Rex, featured on their 1971 album Electric Warrior. Written by frontman Marc Bolan, "Get It On" was the second chart-topper for T. Rex on the UK Singles Chart. In the United States, it was retitled "Bang a Gong (Get It On)" to avoid confusion with a song of the same name by the group Chase.

T. Rex - Twentieth Century Boy

T.Rex - Metal Guru

"Metal Guru" is a song by the British rock band T. Rex, written by Marc Bolan. It was the band's fourth (and final) number one on the UK Singles Chart when it topped the chart for four weeks from May–June 1972. It was also included on the album The Slider in 1972.

T. Rex ~ Solid Gold Easy Action

T.Rex-'The Groover'

"The Groover" is a 1973 single by the British glam rock band T. Rex. Neither the track nor its B-side are taken from an album. However, they are often added as bonus material on re-releases of the 1973 album Tanx or the 1974 album, Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow.

The single was in the UK Singles Chart for a total of nine weeks, peaking at No. 4, making it the last T. Rex song to enter the top ten during Marc Bolan's lifetime.

T. Rex - Electric Slim & the Factory Hen

Tanx is the eighth studio album by English glam rock act T. Rex, released on 28 January 1973 by record label EMI. Tanx was a musical departure from previous works: still containing tracks in the vein of The Slider, Marc Bolan showed his interest for both American soul music and funky music. Female backing singers appeared on a few tracks. New instruments such as saxophone and mellotron were used, allowing the T. Rex sound to evolve.

Upon its release, Tanx peaked at number 3 in the UK Albums chart.

T Rex - Dawn Storm

Futuristic Dragon is the eleventh studio album and a UK-only release by English glam rock act T. Rex, released on 30 January 1976 by EMI Records.
Preceded by the release of two UK Top 40 hit singles from the album, "New York City" (No. 15) and "Dreamy Lady" (No. 30),  Futuristic Dragon was released on 30 January 1976. It reached No. 50 in the UK Albums Chart.

T.REX - TRUCK ON (TYKE)

"Truck On (Tyke)" is a 1973 single by the British glam rock band T. Rex. Neither the track nor its B-side, "Sitting Here", appeared on an original T. Rex studio album, but both were added as bonus material on re-releases of the 1974 album Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow. The record was poorly received critically and did not perform as well in the charts as previous T. Rex singles. The single was in the UK charts for a total of eleven weeks, peaking at No. 12,
Truck On (Tyke) was the last T. Rex single to break the top 20 until 1975's New York City. Marc Bolan acknowledged that "Truck On (Tyke) is my 14th hit record and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it didn't make number one."
Later, Marc would claim the move to be deliberate, stating that its release "was a planned thing. I wanted something not so good to happen to compare it (future material) against."

Gavin Rossdale and Carlos Santana: Bang A Gong

This is the name of the new Santana album: Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time.
I am listening to it right now. It is embarrassing. It is beyond horrific. It follows in a now long, gnarled line of Santana collaboration albums - a road that gets scarier and more twisted the further you head.
Where the previous albums (1999's Supernatural, 2002's Shaman and 2005's All That I Am) allowed for collaborations on new songs - however incongruous some of the cobbled-together arrangements and pairings may have seemed - this album's theme is announced in the title.
There are so many things wrong with it - we could nitpick that songs like The Doors' Rider on the Storm and Def Leppard's Photograph stray somewhat from the brief; these are hardly "guitar classics". T-Rex's Bang a Gong might seem dubious also, Van Halen's Dance the Night Away and The Rolling Stones' Can't You Hear Me Knocking might not be the right choices to represent those bands - but we can certainly allow half of the tracklisting to at least sneak by given the titular theme (Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love, Cream's Sunshine of Your Love, Jimi Hendrix' Little Wing - for example).

Def Leppard - 20th Century Boy (Live RnR Hall Of Fame 2006)

English hard rock band Def Leppard covered the song on their 2006 album, Yeah!, which features cover versions of 1970s rock hits. It was released as the third and final single from the album, on 21 August 2006.
